Yesterday’s results

For the second time in three weeks, a BTS leader was stripped of his crown after picking Lance Berkman against Pittsburgh. Last night, natale94 was felled when the slugger went hitless in four trips
to the dish against John Van Benschoten and the Pittsburgh ‘pen. On July 9, dalmeetz048 saw his 34-game streak snapped when Berkman turned in an 0-for-1 effort with four walks against the Bucs.

natale94 wasn’t the only member of the Top 5 to see his streak return to zero after choosing Berkman. A staggering 13.5% of BTS competitors, including yesterday’s fourth- and fifth-place competitors, ttamel and littled75, saw their streaks end with Berkman’s hitless performance.

vladbts.jpgAs a result of the Top 5 upheaval, three new competitors — bailtard, oldeguy, and justablooper — made their way onto the leaderboard. Meanwhile, garykittilsen jumped back into a first-place tie with freebirdsince88, who rode the bat of outfielder Vladimir Guerrero (1-for-4) to extend his streak to 32 games. garykittilsen was in first until his streak stalled on Sunday night after his pick, Placido Polanco, did not play.

Hey guys, do u know if you select a guy and he dosent play do you lose your streak or does it continue???

I don’t understand why these leaders are picking homerun hitters instead of smart basehitters. Seams like everyone picked Berkman, Guerraro, ARod etc….

I’m taking this Aviles kid from KC for the first time. I never see anyone pick him and it seems he always comes up with a hit. Not to mention he’s mashing lefties.

BTW, I was checking out the All-Time BTS leaderboard and noticed a lot of people have had their streaks end because of Ichiro. I’m down taking him lol, he’s ended my most important streak of 24 before the break and couldn’t get me a hit last night.

That Aviles looks like a good pick. He has a strange swing but he gets alot of nice solid base hits. Watched him last night.

I was looking through my streak ending guys. Magglio Ordonez ended my streak 8 times this season. I think I’m done with him.

Nice. Saw Guillen’s hit for you too. Hopefully this is the start of gettin our streaks back up there.

the people on the leaderboard have been making a ton of bad picks the last week. ive learned that you need to take players that wont draw many walks and hit high in the batting order. berkman seems like a good choice but he has let people down to often this year because of games where he had just 1 official at bat and 3 or 4 walks

STEFFEN, PEOPLE WHO GOT THAT FAR IN THE LEADERS BOARD ARE ALREADY EMPLOYING THE STRATEGIES YOU MENTIONED.

WHAT I FIGURED WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE GIVE TOO MUCH CREDIT TO PAST HOT BATS WHEN THEY NEED TO LOOK FOR BATS THAT ARE HOT NOW. BERKMAN HAS BEEN IN A MAJOR SLUMP FOR THE MONTH OF JULY BUT GIVEN HIS HIGH BATTING AVG AND HOW HE WAS DESTROYING EVERYONE FOR THE FIRST 3 MONTHS, ITS EASY TO PICK HIM EVEN THOUGH HE IS SIMPLY NOT HITTING THAT WELL. I GUESS ITS COMFORTING TO PICK HIM.

ANYWAY, WHEN ALL SAID AND DONE, YOU WILL NEED A GOOD AMOUNT OF LUCK TOO.

I AM NOT SURE IF ANYONE WILL WIN IT THIS YR. TAKING AWAY THE DOUBLEHEADER RULE OF THE PAST HAS MADE IT MUCH HARDER THIS YR. THAT RULE WAS GOOD FOR AT LEAST 6 FREE PASS DAYS.

take time to look at what a player is hitting in the last seven days or go to their personal page on here and check out their stats on a day by day basis.
Berkman is barely hitting 250 this month when i looked at it yesterday
