Yesterday’s results

Not all of front-runners were able to sustain their good fortune from the previous day, as nine participants fell from the top of the pack. That left a mere 10 people tied for first place in the BTS standings at 18 games. With the weather heating up, it’s a good time for hitters to get comfortable, which means we should see several long streaks continue with this weekend’s slate of action!

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

1. Chase Utley (PHI): 7.1%, 0-for-4
2. Jermaine Dye (CWS): 5.8%, 1-for-4
3. Carlos Beltran (NYM): 5.2%, 3-for-5
4. Albert Pujols (STL): 4.9%, 3-for-4
5. Carlos Quentin (CWS): 4.0%, 0-for-3

1 person forgot to put a pick in, from this group. I have no idea how you forget, when you are on the top of page 2 of the leaderboard with an 18-game hit streak, but that is what the leaderboard says.

Out of the other 23 players with 18-game hit streaks coming into today, 10 different players were selected, with 2 favorites: Bobby Abreu with 6 picks and Hanley Ramirez with 4. The other 13 picks are sprinkled over the remaining 8 players, with no other player getting more than 2 picks.

    -17: 52

    Lance Berkman: 1

    Rafael Furcal: 2

    Magglio Ordonez: 1

    Albert Pujols: 3

    Ryan Theriot: 1

    Manny Ramirez: 1

    Alfonso Soriano: 1

Another person forgot to pick a player in this group of 52 players with 17-game hit streaks.

From the other 51 players, we get 23 different players selected. However here, Bobby Abreu emerges as the clear favorite with 10 picks alone, with Hanley Ramirez in second place with 5 picks, and Jose Reyes and Ian Kinsler tied for third place with 4 picks apiece.

I know H. Ramirez came through. Today’s “sexy pick” has to be Abreu with a 10-17 mark, therefore I would like to see him go 0-for-X. Feldman is dealing in Baltimore. Glad Markakis came through for me.

  4. rip2thecompetition

Oh by the way, totally unrelated to baseball but may I just say I’m stoked with my Jets moving up and selecting Mark Sanchez 5th overall đŸ˜€

Wow. 1 out of the top 8 that were at 20 continued their streak and 2 have to play tonight with Boston. May be 1-3 with 21 as of tomorrow.

This question seemingly will never be answered but…how do so many people forget to pick players when their streak is high. 5 or so people has streaks of 16 or more who didn’t pick including 1 guy on the front page. Are people just afraid of picking 10 days in advance and switching their mind so they don’t pick at all and forget?

Lots of big players went 0 fer today or didn’t even play. Major setback for a lot of high streaks today

The top pick, Kevin Youkilis, singled in his last AB to lead off the bottom of the 8th inning!
