Yesterday’s results

Once again, hit-maker Ichiro Suzuki was the go-to guy for the BTS front-runners.

The Seattle speedster came through with a single in four at-bats vs. the O’s, pushing the respective streaks of leader greg4263 and co-second-place holder grebecks to 32 and 29 games. Fourth-place contestant ryancaraher also tabbed Ichiro, as did six of the Top 8 fans.

racin248 elected to go a different route, but still held on to a tie for second place thanks to a 2-for-5 night from Washington’s Ryan Zimmerman.

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

1. Ichiro Suzuki (SEA): 14.3%, 1-for-4
2. Freddy Sanchez (PIT): 7.7%, 0-for-0
3. Michael Young (TEX): 3.8%, 1-for-4
4. Carl Crawford (TB): 3.7%, 0-for-5
5. Kevin Youkilis (BOS): 3.7%, 0-for-4

Easy to pick Ichiro with his .460 during the day. That equates to 95.41% chance of a hit with 5 AB’s. Also, if you find a 95% guy every day, you have a 5.37% chance of 57 in a row.

At this point with all the bloodshed on the BTS Ichiro seems like the closest thing to a sure thing. He’s getting a hit in close to 90% of his games this year. Go Ichiro!

As much as I’m a fan of the idea someone getting 57 games in Beat the Streak, I would be very disappointed if someone rode Ichiro for the entire ride (with other players picked when he has a day off.)

C’mon it’s just too easy to pick Ichiro. And then the normal response would be, “of course i’m going to choose a pick that makes sense.” But Ichiro every single day? There’s no thought process there. It’s a knee-jerk reaction.

Plus I’m a big Ichiro fan. Great ballplayer. We need more like him. But due to the fact that so many people are being lazy and getting long streaks from their laziness, I’m happy every day that Ichiro does not get a hit.

ICHIRO NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME, ONLY HE WOULD COME THRU IN HIS 5TH AT-BAT AND GET A BASE KNOCK AGAINST G. SHERRILL

at ESPN’s streakforthecash it’s very easy to communicate with other users. Why has mlb.com not allowed that here?

I can’t save my pick??
Anybody have the same problem

If Seattle had not blown a 3-0 lead in the top of the ninth Ichiro would have been 0-4 as he singled with a 2 out 2 strike count in the bottom of 9th. Sometimes you have to be lucky and all the streakers with Ichiro were on this day.
