Beat the Streak Report: Monday, April 18
Public service announcement: The Red Sox and Blue Jays play absurdly early today for Patriots Day, so grab your muskets and make sure your picks are in by 11 a.m.
To the joy of sunglass aficionados everywhere, Gottaweartheshades has outlasted all challengers and remains our only original Streaker at a full 18 games. Don’t call us, we’ll call you. Well, we’ll probably email (or Tweet!) — phone conversation is soooo 1999 — but we will be in touch.
Although they’re far too cool to admit it from behind those mirrored Oakleys, 18 games puts Gottaweartheshades more than 31 percent of the way to our $5.6 million grand prize. Just think of all the eye protection you could buy with all that cash — starting with these (retail price: $383,600), of course.
Anyway, strap on your Ray-Bans and hold on tight. We have a brand new week of Streaking ahead of us …

That is me above this. Don’t know why it came up as n.com
I am dejected I lost my streak with Theriot yesterday. I thought he was going to continue his streak since he hit Billingsley so well but Billingsley showed what he can do with that performance. Theriot went hitless but it’s ok as I will be back up there. Also the 18 gamer will end sooner rather than later like all the rest. I have Ellsbury and hoping to get back on track.
Another ballsy pick. #9 batter at home. GL.
Ells just homered. Congrats
That surprised me, too. Looked like a sure pick and was one I almost took. Good luck with your new streak!
I’m going with Matt Kemp today. I wanted to go work Dustin Pedroia, but for some reason I just can’t. GL everyone!
Lol, should say “with”. Stupid Swype anyway.
Morning all. I’ve got Starlin locked and loaded for tonight. GL all.

Good morning I’m taking Kemp also, have to wait all day for a 10:10 start so I hope it’s worth it.
Highest no selection, page 1 with a streak of 16, back to 0.

And just like that 10% of top2500 and 15% of entire field move on with a 2nd inning single by Pedro.
I’m surprised that Jed Lowrie wasn’t a more popular pick, but I managed to overlook him as well.
lol, may your next eight days be breadless?
why would that be a good thing?
Glad my switch from Miggy to Pedroia didn’t kill me. I’m up to 4 which is my season high. I got to 3, 3 times and I guess the third time is the charm. GL everyone who is waiting for the later game.
well, my streak was reset to ZERO yesterday thanks to Pedroia. so my 5 game is now a zero again,. Michael young tonite
i posted at 12 19 yet this thing says 5:19. whats up with this?
Greenwich Mean Time?
The weird thing is sometimes the blog uses Greenwich time, sometimes it uses Eastern time, and sometimes it just makes up a time system to use.
There is no pattern to the time marks.
I’ve seen it 3 hours and 45 mins difference from eastern time. It’s messed up.
Well, my pick is a west coast game and since I’ll probably be up watching it on gameday, might as well follow DET and break out my bad luck hex charms. No offense to any bloggers that happened to pick Miggy also, you may become hexed collateral damage 😉
Need to find some better quality bad luck charms. Miggy 1-1.
Ahhhh, taxes done. Now I can get caught up on a little baseball 🙂
Starlin just singled to move me on.
Fielder also just doubled so ‘www.Jew moves on too.
Span pickers not looking so good. 0-4 in the 9th and he’s due up 6th
And Span gets another bat but proceeds to strike out. Here’s hoping for you guys for a Baltimore rally to tie it up.
BAL brought in Kevin Gregg who can’t find the plate. Span will bat again. What he does with the opportunity is up to him now.
Votto is done for the night, 0-fer
well, Span let us down. At least I was in good company.
solid single in the seventh inning by Wilson Betemit sends me to 2 games!
That was quick! Up to 4!
Kemp singles in the 1st, I’m up to 6.
Now to make tomorrow’s pick. This is so hard!
the leader stayed at 18, did anyone beside me notice this. Now there is a seven way tie for first
That is because the game was not over when you posted that comment, so it was not updated yet.
He should be at 19 by now.
