Beat the Streak Report: Thursday, July 14
Annnnd we’re back.
After the longest 72 hours of the Beat the Streak season, real live Major League Baseball games resume today at 7:05 ET.
Roughly 44 percent of the campaign has yet to unfold, which means there’s still plenty of time to reach 57 games and claim the $5.6 million grand prize. Or plenty of time to put together like 20 three-game Streaks with an awesome season-high eight-gamer thrown in. More likely scenario!
Current leader hankwoods sits at 35, but nobody else entered the break at more that 28 games. Hope you caught up on sleep and got all those nagging chores done over the weekend — recess is officially over.

HRBTS Mark Teixeira
Gotta say the 1st half has been tough. Year of the Pitcher 2? No, don’t think so. Maybe more like: Year of the Inconsistent Hitters?
Last year BTS had 5 players make streaks of 38 or higher to get on the “All Time BTS Streaks” listing. This year, so far: just 1 (though he isn’t on that list yet). I guess Ian will rectify that relatively soon?
Pertaining to last year and this year: Maybe it’s no more steroids.
Wonder how many “No Selections” there will be today? Find out in about 30 mins.
Highest no selection is on page 1 with a streak of 23 and there is another no selection on page 1 with a streak of 22. I guess they forgot when vacation ended. Today resumes no selections equaling streaks of 0.
Pretty much why I asked the question. I expected a higher than normal “No Selection” today. Not sure how it is yet, but obviously we’ve got some highly ranked ones… Running Top2500 now, be posted in about 5 minutes or so
FYI: Those at 14-gamers or more: 14 failed to make a pick today

Car Go is a DNP as well for today since he won’t be playing tonight either. His wrist is still bothering him.
That was a quick 1 in HR BTS. I went with Santana and he came through in the first inning. I wasn’t expecting that at all.
For all those that picked Yankees today (me included), gotta wonder if some of them will get more than 2 ABs the way that game is going.
NYY trying to make a comeback. Several Yankees got hits this 3rd inning, including the leader’s pick
Every Yankee has a hit except for Eduardo Nunez. My pick better not pinch hit.
