Beat the Streak Report: Weekend, Aug. 12-14

Streakland diversified the portfolio in a favorable market on Thursday, hitting with top picks Miguel Cabrera (9.3 percent), Justin Upton (8.4) and Robinson Cano (7.0).

Jturner leads current streakers into the weekend, heading up the standings at 31 games. Make it another week, and season top dog Jonathan Roy might start sweating a little bit.

  6. Backrubs

60 Streakers over 20 are on the Braves bandwagon today with Bourn (12X) and Uggla (9X) being picked the most.
Pujols (5X), Holliday (4X), Braun (3X including leader),
JUpton (2nd place), Victorino, Ellsbury, Castro (all 2X)
THREE above 20 will not advance, they took people on DL.

    • backrubs

Streak busters in the early games: Pujols derails streaks at 27, 25 ,24, 20,and 20.
      Holliday derails at 25, 25, 22, and 22 and Ibanez stops a 20 gamer.
thats TEN busted of streaks over 20.

  7. yanksgiantsdevils33

It seems harder to get hits in July-September then in April-June but maybe that’s just me. I took Albert Pujols (hot hitter) against Jason Hammel (cold pitcher… at least coming in). I had a tough time deciding between Pujols and Matt Holliday who both had good success against Hammel in short history (Pujols 2 for 2, Holliday 3 for 4. I randomly took Pujols and he went 0 for 3 and a walk. Holliday is 0 for 2 and a walk but he has chance leading off the 9th. The Rockies are up 6-1 and I could say that this is probably one of the most unpredictable O fers that I’ll see. BTW Holliday just struck out so both are upset O fers. There are 46 days left of the season after today.

    • yanksgiantsdevils33

And yes Holliday is on the Hot hitter list as well. According to vinny there are 168 Top2500 streaks between the two. This includes 3 of each on the front page.

      • backrubs

i stayed away from both of them today. i had thought about riding holliday after last nite but went with Utley instead. Right now im leaning towards Braun 5-for-9 against the Pirates Morton.
im sitting at 12 and i can not imagine how someone over 20 is feeling right now seeing 10-15 people dropping everynite.
