Beat the Streak Report: Wednesday, August 24
Well, that’s it and that’s all for Joe Turner‘s Streak.
Mark Teixeira‘s 0-for-5 against Brandon McCarthy and the A’s last night sealed our season leader’s fate at 41 games. Losing a season-best run on a player who entered Tuesday’s action batting .251? Yikes! Joe certainly had his reasons, though, and that’s gotta be worth something — potentially $10,000, to be specific.
Phils4ever75 is now in the current BTS drivers seat at an impressive 36 games, with letsgonets44 right behind them at 35. Don’t get too comfy on the season throne just yet, Joe.

Top MLB Streakers
Robinson Cano: 14 games
Aramis Ramirez: 12 games
Carlos Gonzalez: 11 games
Shane Victorino: 11 games
Home Run Beat the Streak pick:
Ryan Braun: (25 home runs this season) vs. Pirates starter Aaron Thompson
Jvairo has quite a few entries rolling at 20 and 21
I went with Aramis Ramirez of the Cubs to try and get to 4.
I absolutely positively must play every day for the rest of the season for a shot at the runner-up prize and figure there’s no way a 5 for 5 effort gets sat.
Phillies losing 7-3 I’m not getting a save today. 😦
I went with the CIN/FLA DH today. Figure get 2 chances for a save and at a streak of zero, no risk
Reds lost 1st game of DH, but up 3-0 in 9th of 2nd game & my pick in for the easy save. Should be back on the board today.
I may have gotten really lucky today as Aramis Ramirez pushed me to 4.
1 for 2, 2 walks, a soft infield single in the 5th inning
Yet I live another day and seem to be the only one left standing on the blog for BTS anyway.
