Beat the Streak Report 
You can tell BTS is pretty much dead for the regular bloggers. I’m the first to post something here and it’s midnight EST on Saturday! Anyway, Ichiro goes 0-4 (3 Ks) and the last realistic chance at the big prize is now done. Next in line needs a few extra-season games to even have an outside chance — unlikely.
And with above being said, my last post this year too. Talk with you guys/gals in April.
lol, I had actually wanted to post earlier today, but just wanted to wait and see if we could have went a whole weekend without posting!
I got really lucky today because my pick early on was Chipper Jones and he ended up not starting and pinching out at 0 for 1.
I ended up going with Dexter Fowler who homered in the 2nd inning to push me to 3 games.
Thankfully, Arroyo got rocked and Fowler was able to squeeze in his homer as the last batter Arroyo faced before being yanked because Fowler went 0 for 3 against the Reds’ bullpen.
The deadness of the boards is exactly why I’d love to see some incentive for people to play out the string, but I actually checked the monthly prizes and they are a bit better than I remember: $800 in total prizes; I had thought it was somewhere around $20.
Too bad Vasquez has been scratched as Seattle’s starting pitcher. 6 HR over 15 innings was mighty tempting. I still might stick with Royals as my picks at least for HR since Pineda has given up HRs in 70% of his recent games.
I am just reviewing the games for today right now and I see Anthony Vasquez did end up making the start for the Mariners, so you might have just gotten bad info.
No HR’s from either side in that game, so it might not have mattered today, but it might matter someday.

Oops, I had the wrong day when I checked at ESPN.
I guess I learned not to pick hitters with batting averages under .250 anymore with Aaron Hill’s 0 for 4 today.
I KNEW I should have went with Derek Jeter for 9/11, but the Yankees looked so clueless at the plate for the 1st 2 games of this series.
Damnit!
That’s what makes this game so challenging/frustrating–trying to figure out which stat to be guided by, if any.
