Yesterday’s results

enronshorttrader took another step toward the 40-game plateau with his selection of Joe Mauer yesterday, receiving a 2-for-3 effort from the All-Star backstop to run his streak to 38 games.

Ichiro was the player of choice for second-place contestant GBaby and third-place co-holder beashane, who pushed their respective streaks to 35 and 33 games with the hit machine’s 2-for-4 day.

mcdonald6 remained in a tie for third thanks to a 1-for-3 performance from Shane Victorino. And with ch2fancbs’ 30-game run having been snapped by a hitless day from Carl Crawford, three new fans took over a share of fifth place, at 29 games.

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

1. Ichiro Suzuki (SEA): 14.7%, 2-for-4
2. Matt Kemp (LAD): 7.1%, 2-for-5
3. Joe Mauer (MIN): 6.8%, 2-for-3
4. Jason Kubel (MIN): 4.6%, 0-for-4
5. Albert Pujols (STL): 3.8%, 2-for-3

Man, tomorrow is tough picking. I think this is the worst match-ups I’ve seen in a long time. I guess they don’t want to hand out free game tickets for the September edition of BTS.

So do we trust Ichie for his day game magic despite having awful #s against Dank? Its 3:40 Seattle time game. Not quite a day game.

I am afraid to pick anyone from Tampa line-up. The whole team is not hitting well and they must be in dejected spirit.

Can’t go against Beckett at Fenway. Can’t go against Greinke. Its seems bad pitching is matched up with bad hitting. I don’t trust anyone is Philly even against Detwiler.

Agree its a tough one tomorrow. I’m leaning towards Placido Polanco vs. Greinke. Also considering Torii Hunter vs. Beckett, but I like Torii Hunter for Friday and I don’t like to pick the same player 2 consecutive days so I think I’m going to take Polanco for Thursday.

    Thursday 9/17….
Is Victor Martinez of RSOX hurt. He is not playing? He looks good (4 – 8) v. Ervin Santayna LAA. Hate to pick him and have him not play and then pinch-hit only.
Evan Longoria v. reliever turned starter Hendrickson looks OK.
    Call me a coward!
Maybe it is time to “PUNT.”?
I’m locked in on CUBS Sam Fuld – hurt his thumb a few days ago and had an MRI today. Cubs were going to recall another outfielder if he would not be able to play, Cubs recalled So Tuguchi today. Guessing Fuld can not play but he in not on DL either. Cubs website says Fuld has a jammed thumb and should be able to play in about a week.
He could pinch run but that keeps him out of the batters box.

Victor Martinez has gone back to Cleveland for family matters. Don’t think he will be back on Thursday

I’m going with Torii Hunter even though it’s Beckett’s turn. LAA continues to hit (17 hits tonight) and Torii had a good night (2-for-4 including a HR.) I will throw caution to the win and hope the law of averages helps me out – after 7 wins the Sox are due for a loss….

Good luck to all – that last guy is still hanging on. I hope he makes it. 🙂

I am going with Torii Hunter as my dogers are not playing.
I think to keep it in LA will help ! !
Best Regards to all the top streakers…& us who struggle to get a good long streak going.
