Top 5 current leaders

(yesterday’s pick)

1. eazyeric, 36 games (Placido Polanco)

2. stormrider1, 34 (Brian Roberts)

3. anthony.tynan, 30 (Placido Polanco)

3. yelmurb24, 30 (Albert Pujols)

5. garykittilsen, 29 (Garrett Atkins)

Season leader: spooky93, 48 games

Yesterday’s results

The All-Star break did little more than delay eazyeric’s march toward the record books, as the BTS leader extended his streak to 36 games last night thanks to Placido Polanco. The Tigers second baseman kept the BTS world on edge by going hitless in his first four at-bats before scratching out a single in the top of the ninth inning of Detroit’s win over Baltimore.

Meanwhile, third-place competitors anthony.tynan and yelmurb24 kept their streaks alive to break into 30-game territory. Like the leader, anthony.tynan grinded it out with Polanco while yelmurb24 rode the bat of All-Star first baseman Albert Pujols (1-for-4).

yelmurb24 wasn’t alone in trusting Prince Albert yesterday, as 14 percent of BTS contestants also chose the Cardinals slugger, making him the day’s most popular pick. The 12.3 percent of fans who made Jose Reyes the second-most-picked player weren’t so lucky, though, as Reyes was unable to manage a hit in five trips to the dish against Cincinnati last night.

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

1. Albert Pujols (STL): 14.0%, 1-for-4

2. Jose Reyes (NYM): 12.3%, 0-for-5

3. Garrett Atkins (COL): 11.9%, 2-for-4

4. Matt Holliday (COL): 8.4%, 0-for-4

5. Placido Polanco (DET): 8.2%, 1-for-5

Overrated in what way? Just because he went hitless one game? Let me give you a stat…

He’s the first player in MLB history to have had 10 HR’s, 20 doubles, 10 triples and 30 stolen bases before the All Star break.

Are any of the people that usually post on here in a group? jeterford? eazyeric? jweisinger? patnick? etc. Somebody needs to invite me to their group or we should make a group consisting of the people that post on this blog.

  3. jeterford@yahoo.com

METSFAN, I AM NOT IN A GROUP. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN A JOINING GROUP TOO THOUGH. MAN, METS COULD HAVE WON THAT GAME. THEY HAD BASES LOADED. TATIS SHOULD JUST TAKEN A WALK.

I MOVED ON TODAY ON CRAWFORD. BARELY TOO ON ONE HIT.

EZERIC SHOULD COUNT HIS BLESSING THAT GUILLEN DID NOT COME INTO PINCH. MANY LEADERS WERE TAKEN DOWN THAT WAY IN THE PAST.

Hey jeterford, I sent you a group invite along with a handful of other people I’ve seen post on this blog. BTW if anyone wants to get in let me know. Let’s try this group thing out and see how it is.

  5. eazyeric

I knew I was safe Guillen is in Venezuela, taking care of some family matters. Him and his wife had a baby girl before the break, so I assume that’s what it is. Unfortunately my Internet was down, TV was on but Internet down I don’t get it. Anyway I think I needed a break anyway. Ordonez today.

Can we get a Beat the Streak: Home Run Edition and MLB.com Survivor blog now?

And maybe even a groups interface as well for those games as well?

Finally, can you include a feature that shows all the available groups, because if I don’t have a group that I already know about, there’s no way for me to find an open group without typing in random search phrases???

is anyone else having trouble submitting their picks??? any help will be appreciated!!!

  8. rip2thecompetition

Man just like hitters go in a slump I’m in a BTS slump. Ever since I lost my 24 gamer right before the break I’ve had a 2 game hit streak, lost it, 1 game hit streak, and then just lost it today because I had Kinsler.

WOW!!! 16 people on the Top 25 Leaderboard for MLB.com Survivor had active streaks of 14-17 games today!

The entire 13-game group of 6-7 people on the leaderboard was wiped out overnight.

I thought the leader was doomed and my task made yet more difficult, but with the White Sox, Cubs, and Braves losing, these 16 people only went 5-11, including 1-2 at the 17-game level, assuming the Diamondbacks hold on for the win.

And the Diamondbacks have only scored 3 runs so far, which might not win the tiebreaker!

“This new innovation is useless as all you get to see with the enhancement is the batter. Why have a view of the field if there is nothing to look at- no defenders, no base runners, etc. I see no advantage to your 3D enhancement. Go back to the original. ”

Under “Field Controls,” make sure you have all the boxes checked.

I realize this isn’t the Gameday blog, but for some reason, it says, “You do not have permission to comment this blog.” Does anyone know why I have that restriction?

I’ll be on that leaderboard in a couple weeks. I had the Yankees today. I’m at 4, just started.

I am having trouble Picking my player also ben. Maybe if i join a group it will allow me to pick players? When i choose the pick a player tab it shows this:
    All-time MLB Streak 0
    All-time bts leader 0
    2008 bts leader 0
    your longest streak 0
    your current streak 0
Then theres a blank grey space above this then to the right theres a big Black box trimmed with gold. If anyone can help me it would be greatly apreaciated and i bet others have the same problem too.

  13. rip2thecompetition

Patnick what’s your email? I just used the email address I see when you post but I sent you a request to the group I made. I got eazyeric and I think jweisinger is the other person that joined. Anybody else that wants to join let me know.

  14. 00jvairo_7

Wow…the Survivor leader at an active streak of 18 must be going ballistic right now!

Webb threw 8 innings of 1 run ball, only to see Lyon give up 4 runs in 2/3 IP.

Why not just let Webb finish the game? He was at a measley 109 pitches!!!

  15. jeterford@yahoo.com

MAN, TOUGH PICKIN’ TOMORROW. I HAVE NOT FOUND A SINGLE CAN’T MISS ‘EM SO FAR.

MOVED ON TODAY WITH SIZEMORE. KINDA SCARY WHEN SILVA WAS TAKEN OUT SO EARLY SINCE I WAS COUNTING ON SIZEMORE’S .480 BATTING AVG. AGAINST HIM.
