Beat the Streak Report: Weekend, July 22-24
Well, well, well … look at you, Streakers! Four of your five favorite batsmen successfully forded the river last night, advancing a combined 41.7 percent of selectors in the process. No word yet on whether any oxen were lost or any cholera was contracted.
Either way, the safe crossing places a large number of you one day closer to establishing a homestead in the rich and fertile valley at the end of the 57-game trail.
A rough guide for the weekend is below, but you’re entering largely uncharted territory. Steer clear of hostile wildlife, stock up at the local trading posts and don’t hunt down more meat than you can carry back to your wagon.

The Top 2500 is coming in a few. I already ran it and now just sorting it out.
Mark got you roped in, huh? Running the Top2500 keeps you more involved than you may want to be. Consider yourself warned 😉
Lol , He’s just doing it for me cause I got the Edmonton Indy this weekend. I’ll pick back up on Monday.

Great job for 1st time. Very clean post. Kudos
Yup great job Vin.
Did glance over Chase Headley PH resetting 54
Thanks. Didn’t even realize Headley was back. I will do much better tomorrow.
Thanks guys. It’s not hard to do at all but I did mess up with the Bloggers group. Should of put backrubs at the top but oh well. Next time it won’t happen.
Unfortunatley, backrubs won’t be there tomorrow
For those that like to buffer their streaks with DL players, load up on BAL Luke Scott
Konerko may be highly picked today because he is a quick pick with a 467 average vs opposing pitcher. However, the problem with getting your picks from the “Picks of the Day” page is that it’s not normally updated when pitchers change. That 467 average is against Carmona who is not pitching today, Change made a day or two ago & now Huff is pitching. Konerko’s average against Huff: 286 (2-7). Paulie hits lefties well & those that picked him but ignorant of the pitching change may just get lucky anyway

Another pick to watch to load up on is Adrian Beltre. He got injured last night and going for the MRI today.
Major sacrificial lamb upon the altar. Pence at 0-4 after 8 innings… Tie possible in 1-run game else needs help to get up again in the 9th. If no more ABs, Pence can reset more today than all the Top2500 resets yesterday combined! Other notable 0-fers in that game, top of 8th: A-Ram, S.Castro
CHC scores 3 runs in 8th in the battle for last place in the NL Central. HOU winning that battle and not one a team wants to win 😉
Starlin got a hit in 8th. A-Ram surely reset if CHC can hold 4-run lead. Pence reset if CHC can prevent 3 extra batters coming to the plate.
Sooooo close for Pence pickers. Left on deck. With just 1 game final, a healthy reset rate today.
Prado not picked well at all, but of the 6 that picked him, one is the leader. A 10 run explosion by CIN in 6th & 7th, may see Prado/McCann on the bench after ATL bats in the 8th. Prado would be due up in the 9th otherwise for a last AB if ATL can’t get him to the plate in the 8th.
And that does it; new leaders tomorrow. Of the 6 tied for 2nd place, 2 fell, 1 moved on & 1 remained idle. Minimum of 2 new leaders & maximum of 4.

@Champion_88. You came off the DL 1 day too early 😉
Time running out for all of us. Game over for me after 1st reset in August.
Really aggravating too, since the other 2 that I closely considered: Weeks and Bourn both came through, as did my other 7 hitters in my consideration group.
Most picked in the field was Berkman, 3rd most picked by Top2500. Sneaky grounder thru left side in 9th moves “Fat Elvis” pickers along today, me included. Luck, pure luck.
Note to self. Don’t pick overweight elderly players during an outdoor day game in the dog days of the hot summer. All of Berkman’s swings appeared very week, not energetic at all.
*weak
This month has had horrible results. Hamilton’s O fer is my 7th O fer of July, since there have only been 21 game days that is an average of 1 O fer every 3 days. This is getting harder to predict with pitchers like Brett Cecil throwing unpredictable games. 😦 BTW the board is dead!
Can anyone here tell me why my rank is showing up as 607, but when I go to Standings, it shows up as 10000 ?
That should say 10000 .
One more time. 10000+.
The 10000+ is your rank for the entire year, not just your current streak. The “rank” column you see (607) depends on whether you are looking at the current/longest streak & may change. Try it in the Bloggers group. Sort by Current, then sort by Longest. You’ll notice the 607 “spot” changes value, but the 10000+ “spot” does not. So, the 10000+ is for the entire year, longest streak. The 607 “spot” depends on Current/Longest sorting. Hopefully I made myself clear
The 1st line should’ve read like so:
The 10000+ is your rank, compared to everyone else, during the entire year…
In other words there have been 10000+ people with streaks of 11 or more. The closer you get to 20, that number will be dropping.
In fact, you should be getting really close to having that number drop. Looking at page 100 sorted by Longest Streak, 17-gamers are ranked at 2251. So, right now, you’re somewhere between 10000+ (11 or less) and 2250 (17 games). Stay alive for a couple more days and you should see that number drop.
Thanks Lav!
You’re welcome & I could have explained it a lot better and easier:
:: The 10000+ spot is the year-long standing compared to everyone that’s played to date
:: The 607 spot is the standing compared to only the current streaks
LOL! I only see the 607, or 458 now, on my phone. On the site on my computer, I don’t. It’s just neat to see my rank so low as it’s usually up there quite a bit. I hope I can keep this up for awhile.
Get thru another week. 458 will become a double-digit number!
*fingers crossed*
You got thru two killer weekends. Losing focus will cost you, so stay alert & don’t 2nd guess yourself too much — yeah, right.
I’m famous for 2nd guessing myself.
