Beat the Streak Report: Tuesday, July 26

Ahoy, Streakers! After several days of aimless drifting in the Sea of 20-game Streaks, a few of you finally made landfall on 30-game Isle last night.

Chase Utley, Jacoby Ellsbury and Adrian Gonzalez helped Jerrystuppy, mimiziemann and rrsiebe dock safely in the harbor, earning those lucky Streakers one-month MLB.tv subscriptions and the undying respect and/or envy of their peers. The dynamic trio join 21 previous Streakers on the beach (30-game Isle is known for white-sand beaches), but the road ahead is treacherous: only six of those 21 lasted long enough to reach 33 games.

Good luck, Bourn-speed and enjoy the buffet, friends!

After 2 days of waiting til the 9th inning or later for a hit, I could use a little 1st/2nd AB magic. Skippy for seven. Good luck Mdrossi

Well LaV I’ve decided not to quit yet, but the 1st reset on or after August 3rd will be it since the regular season ends on September 28 and it will be mathematically impossible to reach 57 if at 0 on August 4th or later.

I took Jimmy Rollins he did not get a 1st AB hit, hopefully he gets a hit on his 2nd, 3rd or 4th AB. I don’t want a 9th O fer of July.

That’s a bit unusual. Pedroia batting clean up. Ellsbury has day off; pinch hit not likely, I’d say.

Oh my goodness Rollins is going O fer too. This is 9 Ofers including 3 in a row. What did I do wrong?

  5. vinny1979

Man, whoever had Bautista is done. He got hit in the head and was taken out of the game as a precaution and he was 0 for 1.

      5 more on pg70, 2 more on pgs 74,67,65, 1 more on pgs 64,61,60
must have some sort of program that just selects for him.
That’s 26 entries, and i stopped looking at pg 58.

How Would you feel if you were a pirates fan after that BS call? Methinks the ump crew just wanted to go home.

  6. vinny1979

I looked at the play and I looked at it a few times. McKenry swiped at him but never touched him. He did swipe but never touched him so the ump made the right call.
