The spooky93 run to immortality continues.
The BTS leader tabbed Michael Young, who was coming off a pair of multi-hit games and facing Philadelphia soft-tosser Jamie Moyer. Young didn’t exactly stuff the stat sheet in a 1-for-5 day, but his third-inning double was enough to boost spooky93’s streak to 44 games.
Meanwhile, the rest of the participants in the BTS world sought to extend their own marches toward 57. The two second-place fans went with New York shortstops Derek Jeter and Jose Reyes, receiving 2-for-4 performances that pushed their streaks to 26 games.
Two more fans are up to 25 games thanks to successful days from Hanley Ramirez (2-for-4) and Johnny Damon (1-for-4). However, it was the end of the line for one member of the BTS Top 5, who saw his 24-game snapped with a 0-for-4 day from Alex Rodriguez.

Ride ’em home spooky93 as you come down the stretch.How can you not root for this guy? An amazing run and I believe Spooky93 has the true BTS high because last year you could pick a doubleheader and if you had one hit in one game and none in the second your streak continued. Spooky93 does not have that break this year which makes this streak one for the ages. With less than two weeks we are in your corner. Finish it off!
You must not play the game to be praising him this much at this point. As much as I’m sure this person is deserving to win I’m playing myself and want to win just as much. If he ends up winning it’s an amazing feat and I would congratulate him but I’ll continue to believe I’m gonna come out on top of this game. He’s at 44 which seems so close yet still so far. Even though he’s came this far it’s still gonna be hard to go another two weeks. This game is mostly based off of pure luck.

Trust me. I have been follwing his picks for lat 2 weeks and he gotten lucky quite a few times. I can fairly say all the good luck that could have gone his way did go his way. Many days of 1 for x plus cheap infield hits to go with it. Last 2 days alone, 1 for 6 and and 1 for 5.
Man, Spooky surprised with me Berkman pick today. He must be heavily relying on the torrent pace Berkman has been killing lefties at home and hoping Stults’ last start against White Sox was a fluke.
It will be interesting to see but it seems he will move on to 45 tomorrow. Only thing that can stop him here is Stults is the real thing and he pitches a gem of a game. One interesting stat is Stults actually pitches better against right than the left in the last 2 starts even though he is a lefty. Lets see if Berkman does the reverse switch hitting.
ONE CAN ALSO HOPE THAT BERKMAN IS OUT OF THE LINE UP BECAUSE HE CAN PROBABLY USE A REST TO COME UP FOR A PINCH HIT AGAINST A TOUCH RELIEVER. PEOPLE AT THE TOP HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED THAT WAY MANY TIMES IN THE PAST. CAN’T WAIT FOR THE LINEUP TO POST.
Berkman obviously might get a hit, but do you REALLY want to go against a pitcher with an ERA of 0.60, even if it IS in a small sample?? After all, there are a few really good choices – Carlos Guillen, just to name one!!

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING. I DIDN’T EVEN BOTHER LOOKING AT THE HOUSTON LINE-UP AS SOON AS I SAW THE PITCHER. BUT I GUESS THAT IS WHAT SEPARATES SPOOKY FROM REST OF US WITH PITIFUL STREAKS.
ONLY THING I CAN HOPE IS THAT SPOOKY CANNOT THINK CLEARLY OR RATIONALLY BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH ON THE LINE AND THAT HE GOT SPOOKED, HOPEFULLY MAKING A “WRONG” PICK.
MY HOPE IS BERKMAN NOT IN THE LINE UP AND COMES UP FOR A ONE PINCH HIT AT BAT.
Whoever says this game involves no luck is out of their mind. Yes, everyone has their own strategy on picking a guy but a players can be 15-30 and not a get a hit or be 1-15 and get a hit that day. Luck. All depends on who you choose.
IT INVOLVES BOTH SKILL AND LUCK. HE DID NOT GET THIS FAR WITH LOTS OF LUCK ON HIS SIDE. ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS IS A CAKE WALK IN PICKING STREAKY HITTERS ALL THE TIME WILL NEVER MAKE IT PAST 10 STREAKS AT BEST. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, ITS THAT LITTLE CHEAP INFIELD HIT THAT A HITTER BEATS OUT THAT MIGHT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN AN EVENTUAL WINNER AND THOSE WHOSE STREAK ENDS IN 20S AND 30S.
