2. slumley, 34 games (Ian Kinsler)
3. eazyeric, 32 games (Placido Polanco)

Season leader: spooky93, 48 games

Yesterday’s results

kinslerBTS2.jpgBeat the Streak leader mday1018 continued his pursuit of Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game record by riding the bat of another Bronx legend, Derek Jeter. The Yankees captain singled to lead off New York’s tilt with the Pirates, stretching mday1018′s streak to 35 games.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Top 5 stayed intact for the third straight day. Second-place competitor slumley kept pace thanks to Ian Kinsler, who scratched out a 1-for-5 effort with a second-inning single off Angels starter John Lackey.

Fifth-place contestant hej2duk331 was given a stress-free night compliments of Hanley Ramirez, who went 5-for-6 against Chan Ho Park and the Dodgers. Rounding out the Top 5, eazyeric and hdchannell received just enough from Placido Polanco (1-for-6) and Nick Markakis (1-for-4) to stay alive.

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

1. Mark DeRosa (CHC): 8.4%, 1-for-3
2. Ryan Braun (MIL): 7.6%, 2-for-5
3. David Wright (NYM): 5.7%, 2-for-3
4. Chase Utley (PHI): 4.5%, 1-for-4
5. Ichiro Suzuki (SEA): 4.0%, 0-for-0

hopefully everybody gets it wrong today from the leaderboard and who does everybody have today?

im taking Pedroia to extend my streak to 14

I had polanco but his 1-6 night yesterday scared me and I switched to granderson who had been on fire lately.

i have carlos guillen

WENT WITH PUJOLS. HIS #S AGAINST LEFTIES WERE TOO COMPELLING TO PASS UP. JUST HOPE DUKE DOES NOT DECIDE TO NOT BE HIMSELF TODAY. IT SEEMS MOST OF THE TOP 25 PICKS ARE CONCENTRATED AMONGST 4 PLAYERS AS EXPECTED. I THINK ICHIRO WILL ALMOST LIKELY GET A HIT.

i had pujols then i changed it to guillen

I was shocked to see the leader put a 35 game hitting streak on the shoulders of Jorge Posada. Posada’s a great player but he’s not exactly hot right now, he bats in the lower half of the lineup and the Halladay is a Yankee killer. I usually like to see the leaders fall, but that was a bold move. I hope it works out for him…hip hip Jorge

THE LEADER HAS A YANKEE ONLY POLICY. I WAS WONDERING WHO HE WAS GOING TO PICK AGAINST A TOUGH PITCHER LIKE HALLIDAY. HALLIDAY HAS BEEN THROWING NOTHING BUT SMOKING FAST BALLS LATELY. YANKEE FAN HERE TOO BUT I AM ROOTING FOR TORONTO TODAY. AT LEAST, JUST ENOUGH FOR POSADA TO NOT GET A HIT.

He’s gotten to 35 games only using Yankees?

obviously he would have to use a different team when their not playing but there have been some games in the past couple weeks when they have gotten very few hits.

Pujols = 6 out of Top 25 / Ichiro = 5 out of Top 25 / Pedroia = 3 out of Top 25

Go Cubs Go!

I took Ichiro…streak at 8 and counting. I wish they showed you the break out of picks right after they were locked for the day. I hate having to wait until the next day.

35 straight-take Posada against Halliday. Is this ballsy or dumb? It’s not for me to say.

HE MUST BE VERY RICH. THERE ARE LOT OF RICH PEOPLE IN NY. HIS ALLEGIANCE TO YANKEES MUST BE SO STRONG THAT HE CAN DROP A MIL. BUCK LIKE THAT. THEN AGAIN, IT WORKED FOR HIM SO FAR JUST GOING WITH YANKEES ONLY WHEN HE CAN SO ITS HARD TO BLAME HIM. BUT HIS DEMISE WAS SO PREDICTABLE. I MEAN HE GOT AWAY JUST 2 DAYS AGO WITH AROD.

ITS SEEMS LIKE THERE IS A MAJOR BROOM SWEEPING THE TOP 25 BOARD IN THE HAPPENING. SUZUKI WOULD BE THE CLINCHER. BUT SUZUKI AND PEDROIA ARE VERY GOOD LAST AT HITTERS SO WE’LL SEE.

LIKE I SAID YESTERDAY, IT WAS TOO EZ FOR ONE WEEK. EVERYONE WAS PICKING RIGHT, LEADERS OR NOT. STATISTICALLY, THIS WAS INEVITABLE.

EZ ERIC LIVES. MORNEAU JUST CAME THRU.

wow, get out the broom tonight.
good grief

Well guys, my run is over at 24. First time taking Ichiro and he let me down. I been waiting for the leaderboard to get wiped out and of course it happens on the day I lose too. Tomorrow I’m right back on the grind with Ichiro. Good luck to anyone who is creeping up on the leaderboard.

Ichiro will get a hit tomorrow

He owns Meche

hopefully his hamstring isnt bothering him

Pedroia’s streak is over too

He got robbed of a hit in his 3rd at-bat. Alex Gordon made a good play .. He rarely ever goes two games in a row without a hit. Last time he didn’t get a hit the next day he faced Blanton who he had good numbers against and came right back with a hit. I think the same will happen tomorrow. Didn’t get a hit today but will come back with a hit tomorrow against a pitcher he has success off of.

i have a 15 game streak im counting on denard span to make it 16 of nate robertson

I WONDER IF THE PEOPLE WHO PICKED PUJOLS KNOW THAT THEY CHANGED THE PITCHER OVER NIGHT. DUMATRIT IS OUT. THEY BROUGHT A GUY UP FROM MINORS. RIGHTY AND NOT LEFTY. HE SEEMS TO SUCK ANYWAY SO PUJOLS WILL STILL LIKELY GET A HIT OFF HIM.

A LOT OF ODD PICKS I SEE ON THE LEADERS BOARD. TO BE FRANK, MANY I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT.

THE LEADER WENT WITH HIS MAN. POLANCO. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF OTHER 2 GOOD PICKS ON TIGERS TOO. THAMES AND GUILLEN. GUILLEN HAS BEEN GETTING LIKE A HIT A DAY BUT HE HAS HIT THE PITCHER VERY WELL THIS YR. THAMES TOO EXCEPT HE IS NOT GONNA BAT UNTIL 2ND INNING.

i have denard span against the tigers and he is batting 9th so my streak will probably end

i think a bunch of leaderboard guys will lose again today and ez erics pick polanco is 0-1

my streaks over denard span is 0-4 in the 8th he just struck out again

ez erics streak keeps going polanco just got a hit

After my streak of 24 was snapped last night because of Ichiro I went right back with him today and he got a hit. I don’t know why only a couple guys on the leaderboard took Ichiro. It’s almost a given that if he doesn’t get a hit one game he’s getting a hit the next.

I WAS HOPING AT LEAST HDCHANNEL WOULD GET ELIMINATED TODAY BUT MARKAKIS GOT A DOUBLE ON HIS LAST AT IN THE 9TH. LOT OF LEADERS GETTTING LUCKY ON MEDIOCRE PICKS TODAY. MARKAKIS DEFINITELY WAS NOT A GOOD PICK TODAY. DON’T SEE HOW ANYONE ARGUE OTHERWISE. HOPEFULLY, SOME WIPEOUTS TOMORROW.

Going with Polanco again, maybe risky. Actually might not play today! Got really lucky last night, pure luck! Lucky friday on Morneau too!

Better off getting into late innings with Polanco, cause he’s batting .581 against lefties best in mlb in think. But Blackburn is worse with Right handed batters. We shall see, good luck everyone, my internet is down so I have to go to a friend’s house to use his. So I can’t keep up so good anymore.

im going with berkman
he has some ridiculous averqage against the Nats pitcher

WENT WITH BERKMAN. HIS #S AGAINST PEREZ IS QUITE GOOD. I FIGURE HE WILL GET 5 AT BATS SINCE HOUSTON IS BATTING TOP OF 1ST. ONLY DRAWBACK IS IF THEY ARE AFRAID TO PITCH TO HIM AND WALK HIM MANY TIMES.

HAVE PEOPLE LOOKED AT FIRST GAME AFTER THE BREAK. ONLY 5 GAMES AND NOT MANY TO PICK FROM.

went with Ichiro

CONGRADS TO EZ ERIC. SO FAR, ITS POSSIBLE IF PUJOLS DON’T COME THRU, HE CAN HAVE A SIGNIFICANT LEAD OVER THE REST OF THE FIELD. I GOT TO SALUTE YOU ON YOUR CHOICE, I REALLY THOUGHT POLANCO WAS A VERY IFFY CHOICE. BUT IT TAKES FAITH TO WIN THIS GAME.

Last time Pujols faced Snell I took him and he didn’t come through with a hit. Because of that day I didn’t take Pujols today facing Snell even though he has those great numbers against him. So far Pujols is hitless again facing Snell…

Does anyone know what happen to Jerrymohr on the leaderboard. His name has disappeared for some reason. I wonder if it has anything to do with that controversy about the spooky pick for that one day. MLB explained what happen several times and I guess that wasnt good enough for him.

JERRYMOHR CHANGED HIS ID TO 3059s36.

#2 & #3 OUT NOW AND HOST OF OTHERS. IF REYES DON’T COME THRU, ANOTHER BROOM SWEEPING OF THE LEADERSBOARD.

Thanks Jeterford, I’ve really been stressed lately playing this, for good reason. My Internet is down so I haven’t been able to keep up as well. Well couple day break hopefully I can get my internet working by then so I can chat with ya’ll.

There’s actually only 4 games on Thursday… ouch, that’ll be tough.

with guzman pujols lowell and wright not getting any hits today 13 people are now off the leaderboard. finally people are starting to fall
