The great Dimaggio’s hitting streak. Dimaggio played in both ends of a doubleheader on: 5/30, 6/1, 6/8, 6/29, 7/1,
7/6 and 7/13. He kept his streak alive by getting hits in 7 double headers! Playing in a wool uniform, traveling from city to city by train. An amazing accomplishment. We have to remember that in Dimaggio’s era, doubleheaders, especially on Sunday afternoon, were a weekly occurance. Teams used PM Sunday and Monday to get to the next city for a game on Tuesday. Thanks to the lavopevb who gave us the web site to visit to learn about Dimaggio’s amazing streak. You can get the web site:

Guys remember that chance/luck plays a huge part in this game. I remember reading about the game where Dimaggio’s streak was ended. They were some fielding gems in that game that brought the streak to an end at 56 games.
Good luck today to all especially pperkins and vinman28.
dragbunt
Thanks dragbunt and I found out that info about Dimag today by reading that site and today I have Jeter who is hitting .333 at the Stadium against the Sox this year so it’s a good pick I think.
I remember hearing that after the 56-game hit streak ended, he went on a 17-game hitting streak, so we would be playing to beat a 74-game hit streak, if not for those plays.
