Yesterday’s results

For the second straight day, a large contingent of the BTS faithful went with one player, placing their early hopes in the hands of Derek Jeter.

Demonstrating once again his ability to rise to the occasion, the Yankees captain responded with a third-inning homer off Angels starter Ervin Santana, sustaining the streaks of the 25.7 percent of the fans who picked him.

Yesterday also brought the second consecutive hitless game from Mariners catalyst Ichiro Suzuki, normally a BTS stalwart. While that performance ended a good share of streaks, several hundred remain tied for the top spot at 10 games.

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

1. Derek Jeter (NYY): 25.7%, 2-for-5
2. Ichiro Suzuki (SEA): 7.4%, 0-for-4
3. Todd Helton (COL): 4.8%, 1-for-3
4. Pablo Sandoval (SF): 4.8%, 1-for-5
5. Miguel Cabrera (DET): 4.4%, 0-for-3

Here are two Mr. Pete Silver Bullet Locks of a Lifetime: Placido Polanco at Citizen’s Bank Park, and Dancing Roman in the sixth at Keeneland.

Ichiro is facing another lefty tonight so I don’t think he will get a hit tonight either. Not hitting lefties and I have Holliday tonight.

taking werth today to get to a w6. the entire phillies lineup is hot to start the season so he should get plenty of chances to hit today and the phillies are facing the nationals pitching

I switched my pick to Maggs at the last minute from Polanco. Glad I did he just went yard lol. That’s three straight days that the player I picked to get a hit also went yard. Utley, Jeter and now Maggs.

Derrek Lee has a bad thumb. Lingering type of injury. Even when he gets back in line-up stay away for a while.
Going with the wind blowing out to left field today at Wrigley with Aramis Ramirez (upper cut swing) for HR BTS.
Go Phils and Chase Utley for BTS.

Good luck to those still waiting for their hit, thank you Cano for 11.

Champ88- Pedro didnt homer, he doubled. Mags homered.
“Went with Dustin Pedroia today who just homered.
Wow, got that out of the way quickly!”

i had matt holliday but changed my pick to pedroia in the last minute. good thing i did he already got a hit. thats a 5 game streak

  8. peteryanidis

Mauer singled to get to 2. This game is easy when you have a low streak. For tomorrow I’m probably picking Pedroia or Hanley Ramirez.

  9. dragbunt104

    Good News: Cubs win 7-6
Bad News: Aramis Ramirez’s upcut swing + low pitches = K
No HR today for Ramirez – my HR BTS back to the usual zero.
    Come on Chase Utley!

I spent so long debating between Mauer, Cano, Polanco, and Holliday… I hope this bad feeling doesn’t come to signify anything.

Had Placido locked in days ago. Sees two pitches, singles to center. BTS up to 11. Let’s go… Good luck to everyone looking for a hit tonight.

Is that a baseball game in Philly tonight or a street fight?
Schenk105 – The Phils may be passing out bats to guys sitting in the box seats behind the dugout to pinch hit before this night is over. Utley goes yard! – YES!
pperkins – Are you horse racing references code or do you spend some time playing the ponies? Who do you like in the Kentucky Derby?
    Time to look to Thursday

    Thurs 4/15
How about Pedroia v. Liriano(lefty) day game in MN?
Jayson Werth looks good v. Nats Olsen but he is day-to-day with a bad hip. Risky to play him?

  14. btle

Thanks to Matt Holliday, I start my streak again tomorrow.
On the good side, I picked Chase Utley to hit a HR. Glad that he did. 🙂

The Phillies seem to be getting tons of hits. I’m going with one of them for tomorrow.

  15. btle

Yeah, sometimes it’s best not to pick a catcher because I don’t want to take the risk of them not playing the full game.

  16. nardberg

Dragbunt – I say Werth is too risky. I’m leaning towards Posada for tomorrow. Not too comfortable with the Utley/Polanco picks considering stats vs. Olsen. I’m iffy on Pedroia – although he has good numbers vs. Liriano, Liriano’s opp avg. right now is only .200. Plus he’s pitching at home and has a lower ERA vs. righties. Good luck all!! (fka TeamPeanut) 🙂

polanco is on fire the way the philles hitting he going to have 6 at bats tomorrow. picking ryan howard is to risky i think. and why will u pick posada? NEVER PICK A CATCHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unless his name is joe maur loll

  18. vinny1979

I got burned by both sluggers from St Louis to end my streaks. Pujols last week and now Holliday. Staying away from both for a while.

  19. nardberg

Was going with Posada based on his numbers not to mention he’s been hitting .357 at night with a .714 slugging percentage. Plus Kazmir is coming off the DL. Perhaps I’ll change to Jeter. Don’t really like anyone today and now I’m spooked. I hate picking any teams following a huge hitting game becaus statistically they won’t repeat it. I don’t like today at all. THANK YOU for the feedback though – GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

P.S. Pujols burned me last year.
