Beat the Streak Report: Tuesday, June 21

Yo, Adrian — I did it!

Well, really, all you Streakers did was pick Adrian Gonzalez. The Red Sox first baseman handled most of the actual legwork yesterday, rapping two singles and a double in a 14-5 drubbing of the Padres, and advancing 21 percent of all selectors in the process.

Gonzalez is as hot of a hitter as you’ll find these days, raking .353 on the season, .433 in June and .455 in his last 11 games. Feel free to deploy the power of the goatee in any ballpark and against any pitcher until further notice.

Ian must hope that he won’t be personally accountable for that extra $0.1 million. That’s probably a year’s salary for him, give or take.

If I remember correctly this used to be 1 AB or more now it’s 2 AB or less. I guess if they come in for a Defensice Switch and have 3 or more ABs that is to many chances for Pinched OR 1 AB Wonders.

      • LaVolpe

That’s the way I look at it. Most starters, most games will see at least 3 ABs. If someone comes in the game late and gets 3 ABs, that’s nothing special IMO.

We only post for people in our own group. You can join the Bloggers Group. Just click on the Groups menu when you get to your picks page and join. When you do join, your streak in the group will be zero though your BTS streak is now 9 with S.Smith’s hits. You can find yourself on page 75 of the Standings if you look before they are updated.
