Beat the Streak Report: Wednesday, July 6

A hefty 20.4 percent of all selectors put their trust in Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp last night, and the newly-crowned Home Run Derby participant came through in style with a 2-for-5 performance against the Mets.

Second choice Adrian Gonzalez slayed the dragon for an additional 8.9 percent of Streakers, while 4.7 percent of you skated by on a pass from the injured Ryan Braun. We’ll let that kind of sneakiness slide this time around, but you should be well aware of the karmic ramifications tied to taking an intentional bye.

Wednesday brings another heaping helping of intraleague action. The chef’s recommendations are below, and we’d strongly advise against sending anything back to the kitchen. Oh, and Braun could return to action today, so try a cute pick there at your own risk.

So it appears 3rd/4th place leaders taking a breather today with injury picks though Asdrubal is day-day. Can Westbrook shut down Phillips? Don’t believe so, but always a chance Phillips gets himself out & maybe a K

Mauer another early sacrifice, 29 pickers got pinched.
Drubal is in starting lineup. A-Gon is not starting today (gonna be 53 anxious ppl tonight.)
Pujols back in starting lineup, Phillips moved down to #4 spot as opposed to #2 where he’s been the last little while.
Still no Polanco, Victorino, CarGo or Tulo.

Asdrubal in the game & 1st AB hit. McCann also good on 1st AB. Looks to be the STL game for reset hopefuls.

Both Tulo & CarGon sitting? One’s gotta pinch hit. Injuries maybe? Haven’t been keeping up with rotoworld lately.

      61 pickers had Peralta.
CarGo has a wrist inj but is back to about 75 percent in live batting practice, so he’s gotta be close. Tulo has a quad issue, so no idea if he’s avail or not.

Car Go is supposed to be back tomorrow as he has taken batting practice and took fielding practice on Monday and they said he would be back Thursday per rotoworld.

Holliday 0-2. Was that his last AB? Could be, losing by 8 after 5 innings. LaRussa is known to rest outfielders in blowouts. May see J.Jay replace him before 3rd AB but I’d think Berkman removed before Holliday. Wishful thinking on my part.

Though J.Jay flew out, 10 batters come to the plate in the 7th as CIN tries to throw the game. Jay will see another AB!
