Beat the Streak Report: Thursday, August 25
Joe Turner, don’t get too comfortable in that season leader chair.
Robinson Cano advanced Phils4ever75 to 37 games last night, tying our current leader with Hank Woods for third place in the season standings.
For those of you not keeping score at home, Phils would need five more correct picks to set the $10,000 pace and another 15 after that to multiply the potential prize by 560.

Home Run Beat the Streak pick:
Joey Votto: (24 home runs this season) vs. Marlins starter Chris Volstad
I switched from Mariano to Craig Kimbrel because of the rain in the NYC area so I still have a shot at a save but the Braves are up by 4. My Yankees are down 7-2 what a dreadful showing against the As.
8-3 now meanwhile my Yankees are only down 7-6. If the Yankees comeback for a 1-3 run lead after 8 and the Cubs don’t get back within 3 this FR game hates me!
10-7 Yankees going into the bottom 7th. Two innings to add and make it a 4+ lead like the Braves did.
Try a 14 run lead 22-8 Yankees! 🙂
Amazing.
And to think I stayed away from that game because I feared Harden.
Funny how Teixeira STILL managed an 0 for in that game!
For anyone interested, I went with Ryan Zimmerman tonight against Wade Miley.
I normally don’t like picking against 1st-time starters, but there really wasn’t anything good to pick tonight with lots of tough pitchers going.
yay! A soft fly-ball double for Zimmerman in the 5th inning pushes me to 5 games!
I am sad to see that I am the only one who cares about BTS anymore though…
It’s not that we dont care, we’re just not posting anymore.
I’m still playing even-though there are no “big” prizes available for me to win. It’s just not as much fun when you’re playing for nothing.
Yep Liber. I’m still playing to see if I can beat my all time high of 15.
That’s what I’m still playing for. 18, to beat my 17 from last season.
And I honestly only care if the leader reaches mid to upper 40’s. Otherwise, playing is pointless IMO this late in the game unless you are still in the hunt for 10K.
what is up with Miguel Carbera, im not seeing him on Detroit’s players to pick and not showing him on and DL or nothing
He is on paternity leave.
In my attempt to find a rest player for Thursday, I noticed him within an hour of it going up on RotoWorld, only to see that he had already been taken down.
They have gotten a lot more vigilant about that over the past month or so.
Wonder why the dramatic change all of a sudden?
He still shows as my pick on HRBTS. He was scheduled to return today. I remember last year Cabrera had a huge day after the birth of a child–maybe he will again.
He singled in his 1st AB, so that angle works if you used him in BTS.
I already had my pick chosen by the time I read this, so I was not going to change my mind, but it already came through anyway, so it all works out!
