Spooky93 with his wallet a little fatter would like to give Carlos Beltran a big thanks for his 0-4 last night. Sleep well pickmaster!

Yeah, I don’t quite understand the picks when the leaders lose. Odalis Perez is quite a good left handed pitcher and his BAA is probably no better than .250. Coupled with a team struggling to score runs and a guy who bats 4th in the order, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Manny Ramirez made a lot more sense yesterday, since he was going against Jeff Karstens who has struggled recently, is batting .329 on the season, the Dodgers are hot, etc.

Hey Ojvairo, Woulda seemed like a great pick if he got a hit wouldn’t it have…How far did you get in BTS you dink!

looks like spooky93 takes home the $10,000 cash prize.hope isn’t having trouble like some of our of luck collecting pickmaster.if you do have any trouble let me know,my uncle guido works on only 20%.

“Hey Ojvairo, Woulda seemed like a great pick if he got a hit wouldn’t it have…How far did you get in BTS you dink!”

No, it still would have been a bad pick. He just would have gotten lucky that time.

For example, suppose he picked a guy batting .220, hit 8th in the order, the team was home, and going up against Tim Linecum.

That would be a terrible pick…even if he got a hit. Because even if he did get a hit, would you suggest continuing to pick under those same conditions over and over?

For a good pick, you would obviously say yes. But would you say that for a bad pick?

Another example was when someone was at 35 games earlier in the year and picked Jorge Posada against Roy Halladay when Halladay was in a zone. Posada typically only hits 6th in the order and wasn’t even that hot at the time and I remember seeing a big red flag go up and sure enough he went 0 for 3 and the Yankees got 2 hits as a team.

My career best is ~ 20, how about you?

And do you play Beat the Streak: Home Run Edition and Survivor contests also?

Note: For anyone from the MLB fantasy department, we need a separate blog next year for those contests as well.

Also, the prize for Survivor needs to be seriously amped up, especially the prize if no one reaches 27 games.

Finally, those same in-depth searching features found in the Beat the Streak leaderboard need to be unlocked for Beat the Streak: Home Run Edition and Survivor as well.

And also, one last quick thing, when will registration for the Postseason Survivor begin and will there be any Beat the Streak contests for the postseason this year?

I am confused as to their omission in years’ past?

    Thank you for your time!
