    Tuesday, 9/22……..
Trying to end the year on a “high note” šŸ™‚
Derek Lee tore it up last night – HR and single.
I’m going with Ichirio on Tuesday, if I’m not mistaken, he has not had two 0-fer games in a row all year. M’s had an off day on Monday and “The Little Magician” should be ready to hit. Derek Jeter looks very solid.
Tip of the Day for WED – CUBS v. BREWERS……..
As a Cub Fan – Hate to make this post but a hit is a hit.
Cubs are starting Jeff Samardzija(former Notre Dame Fottball Player). JS has struggled all year and is hittable.
Take a look at the MIL lineup for a hit on Wed. Cecil Fielder, Mike Cameron could take a JS fastball and hit it into orbit or at least break the back of one ot the empty seats in LF/RF.
hammanm, champion_88, vinny, teampeanut – Is the plan to exchange email addresses to plan a strategy over the winter for 2010 still a go for us?
    good luck to all today!

Hi to – Can you get me some tickets to a game at Fenway v. NYY? šŸ™‚
Please join the crowd and post who you like each day. The blog is updated “somewhat” regularly but do not count on the “King’s at the Plate” for the best advice each day. The chances of winning BTS are very long (e.g. – The RSOX win all 15 games in one season V. NYY comes to mind as a comparison.) But if we post who we like each day with some reasoning we can work as a team and maybe, just maybe one of use could be a big winner.
hammanm posts regualry who he likes and he is the holder of a 43 game streak this season. His picks are well researched and his advice is rock solid.
Remember – There is a big element of luck in the game.
So wear your lucky RSOX jersey when you make your picks each day.
I have the privilege to get to Fenway back a few years ago to see two games – Had a great time! I sat behind homeplate in the grandstand – wooden seats, very close together with almost no leg room – would not trade that experiece for any other.

Yeah, that is still the plan, but we might want to start exchanging them soon, since there is only 2 weeks left of the regular season.

I will still be here into October and even November, as there is still the bracket challenge and Postseason Survivor to do, but I am unsure how many of you play that contest as well?

I would not be surprised if there is not a Beat the Streak: October Edition, since they did one for September this year?

I’m not overwhelmed with any picks for today. I’m going with Shin-Soo Choo vs. Edwin Jackson. He’s hitting .300 for the year and .467 vs. Jackson.

  5. champion_88

I went with Derek Jeter today. I know that Ichiro has not gone 0 for X in back-to-back games this year, but that is the same angle that ended my 22-game hit streak back in Ichiro’s 262-hit season and his 1 for 6 off Jeff Niemann (all of those stats are from this year probably) is not a good sign.

Is anyone doing any of the postseason fantasy contests?

  6. dragbunt104

champion_88 – I’ll be on the look out for Bracket Challenge and Post Season Survivor. Did not know about these items.
How did they work last year?
    My email is:
Put champion_88 in the subject line so you do not go into my spam box.

  7. vinny1979

I will be playing all the postseason games like I do every single year and for those of you who want to keep in contact here is my email.

We can talk strategy over the offseason so that one of us can win in 2010.

I’m going to be out of town and away from a computer this weekend. Here’s my upcoming picks:

    Wednesday – Michael Young
    Thursday – Miguel Cabrera
    Friday – Alberto Callaspo
    Saturday – Jimmy Rollins
    Sunday – Rajai Davis
    Monday – Jacoby Ellsbury

    Wed. 9/23…………..
I mentioned that CUBS are starting Jeff Samardzija on Wed at MIL. He has been bad this year. This is his 2nd start. I’m going with MIL leadoff hitter Felipe Lopez for Wed.
I say the under over is that Samardzija does not get out of the 4th inning at MIL – a hitters park. Good day to bring your glove to the game if you are sitting in the outfield.
This is a tough pick for a Cub fan – but – I can’t influence the outcome of a game only make picks that I think will be best to extend my modest streak.
Ichirio hits a HR! I took Aramis Ramirez CUBS in HR BTS today and Ichirio in BTS. Would never have thought to take Ichirio in HR BTS!
Hammanm got your email. We now have 3 BTS players working to beat the King in 2010. BTS Player are you going to join us, same for champion_88?
