Beat the Streak Report: Wednesday, April 13
Josh Hamilton, Streakland raises a collective glass to you …
You carried gamers for weeks at a time in an MVP 2010 campaign, raking at a Major League-best .359 clip and piling up 186 base knocks in just 133 games.
You came out hot this season, batting .316 over your first 10 contests and recording at least one hit in your last seven straight.
And even on the tragic Tuesday when you fractured your humerus — nothing funny about it!* — while trying to score a foul popup, you left 5.3 percent of Streakers with one final parting gift: 1-for-1, 3B, RBI.
*Tip your waitresses, folks. And try the seal.
Get well soon, J-Ham — we’ll catch ya in 6-to-8.
With a temporarily heavy heart, we trudge through the dark malaise toward …
Wednesday’s picks
(Make a BTS pick)
Oh, hello there …
• Raul Ibanez: .667 AVG (10-for-15) since ’06 vs. John Lannan
• Robinson Cano: .857 AVG (6-for-7) since ’06 vs. Orioles starter Chris Tillman
• Dustin Pedroia: .433 AVG (13-for-30) since ’06 vs. Rays starter James Shields

Rain cannot stop Robinson Cano. It can only hope to delay him.
Feeling kinda spicy?
• Jason Kubel: .455 AVG (10-for-22) since ’06 vs. Royals starter Kyle Davies
Aww, that’s cute — Kubel’s twin Michael Cuddyer is jealous.
You’ll thank me later …
• Kevin Youkilis: .097 AVG (3-for-31) since ’06 vs. Rays starter James Shields
• Alfonso Soriano: .077 AVG (2-for-26) since ’06 vs. Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez
• Andre Ethier: .148 AVG (4-for-27) since ’06 vs. Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez

Yer still doin’ it wrong …
• Matt Wieters: .000 AVG (0-for-17) since ’06 vs. Yankees starter A.J. Burnett
Wieters is STILL hitless against Burett! How much longer can the madness continue?

No double headers today, and so far for tomorrow the only game doubling up is NYM/COL. You have be warned.
As for today I’m riding my Rangers again, this time going with M. Young. GL all.
Mauer is not in today’s lineup. Kubel a good alternate selection.
Already got a hit in his first at-bat.
I’m going with Michael Young as well to hopefully get to 2 after two straight pauses.
Highest no selection on page 3 with a streak of 12, back to 0.
GL everyone, I’m riding Marlon Byrd’s hot streak for a third straight day hoping to get to 4.
@yanksgiantsdevils-people must not look to see that game times are early because I can’t think of any other reason why you wouldn’t make a pick with a 12 game streak on the line. I always have someone picked for the next day just in case I can’t make it to a computer. Oh well, I guess some learn the hard way.
I chose to pick Brandon Phillips. Here’s hoping. Not sure why I’m nervous. It was either him or Votto, and both have great averages and nice streaks going right now.
I had Phillips for a while, but switched to Kemp’s gaudy numbers at the last minute. I think both are great picks.
Hey man, nice to see you back for another season.
Benched & potential pinch hitters for early games: J.Mauer, D.Barton, C.Crisp, M.Ordonez, A.Pierzynski
I got paused last night but won’t tonight. Had Mauer but had to switch when I saw he wasn’t starting.
Michael Young doubles in his 2nd AB up to 2.
I’m with ya. I move to 4.
I could have picked ANYONE on KC and been set. LOL!
Top2500 will be a bit late today. I’m running the program now but dont think ill be able to post for a while.(using my iPhone right now.)
GL to all.

Pedro 185, Cano 160, Mauer 152,, No Selection 130, Votto 98 are your top 5.

Well 5 people who are perfect picked from the early games. 2 have gotten hits with Kubel, 1 isn’t starting with Mauer and the other 2 have Miggy who just hit into a fielder’s choice.
@NYMETS: No love for Matt Treanor?
@00Liber: Wow, Ichiro missed the top 5?
Ichioro #12 with 57 pickers.
@champion88: I said anyone on KC. He hasn’t been playing as much so I would have picked Alex Gordon.
lol, Matt Treanor is on KC!
@champion_88: Yes, yes he is! LOL!
TB/BOS Postponed.
Wow. That is way early to call a postponement. I’m shocked but that lowers the amount of perfect streakers even more.
3 of the “perfects” had Pedroia

Well, unless something changes, or I get lucky, no hit for Phillips. I just CAN’T get this streak going. Sooo frustrating!
Especially when I considered picking either Stubbs or Votto and picked Phillips instead.
WEITERS!!!! Gets his hit against Burnett.
Congrats to the Cano pickers.
