Beat the Streak Report: Tuesday, June 7

Maybe you’ve put together a few nice streaks this season. Maybe you’ve even made a cameo on Page 1 of the BTS standings, or had your name mentioned on this here blog. By all accounts, you’re in the prime of a respectable Streaking career.

But then one day you’re sitting on your couch waiting for your chicken with broccoli to arrive and watching “Intentional Talk” when the question hits you: Am I a better Streaker than those MLB Network personalities?

It starts as a casual Thursday night curiosity, then slowly grows into something more — a personal mission, a yearning that beats inside you day after day. You simply need to know how your Streaking abilities stack up against Hazel MaeKevin Millar and Chris Rose.

Well, now you can.

Check the new BTS Featured Contestants page daily to play against the hosts of MLB Network’s “Intentional Talk” and “Quick Pitch,” as well as yours truly — writer of the fourth-most popular pro blog in the entire MLBlogs network — and a whole bunch of BTS season champions. You can see their current streak, season high and daily selection right alongside your own.

Keep making those picks, and you just might find your own mugshot rubbing elbows with BTS legends like Michael Karatzia and Geoffrey Croke someday.

I finally went with David Ortiz. Having second thoughts for some reason. Probably because A. Cabrera has his hit already and he was my first choice.

The no selection had a streak of 24 earlier in the year between being back to 17 and a 7:00 lock time how did he/she forget to pick?

  4. LaVolpe

What had the potential of being a killer night of resets just got whittled down significantly with both B.Phillips & Votto getting last AB hits. Will Pujols and/or Braun be the sacrificial lambs tonite?

    • LaVolpe

Appears Braun was the one. Not a great reset day, but a good reset day wtih some quality resets; including 2 of the 3 tied for 2nd place.

Anyone know of any DL picks for tomorrow?

I have to be out for most of tomorrow and will not have time for much analysis.

    • LaVolpe

May want to catch up on rotoworld later tonight for more recent updates. There were 3 leg injuries tonight: TOR Encarnacion, STL Craig & NYY Teixeira.

      • champion_88

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately, Mike Wilson was taken off the list of pickable players, before I could put him in.

Since I was only at 1, I decided to just go for it with Ichiro.

I just wanted to test my ability to pick players not playing today, so when that might be extremely important, I could have some practice.

  6. yanksgiantsdevils33

I guarantee that Asdrubal Cabrera will be on the you’ll thank me later list tomorrow. He is 0 for 16 off of Carl Pavano.

  7. yanksgiantsdevils33

Pujols brought me to 17 with a home run in the 8th! 🙂 Today is a big day, almost a year ago I was at 17 and took Nick Swisher against supposedly Jeremy Guthrie. Around 12:15PM on June 10, 2010 I was reading the game preview of that Yankees vs. Orioles game on my phone. To my fear it announced that a then unfamiliar pitcher named Jake Arrietia was going to make his Major League Debut. It was a 12:30 lock day and I was far away from a computer. Swisher went on to be 0 for 3 with a Sac Fly (essentially 0 for 4) including hitting into a game ending ground out. Swisher has gone on to be 0 fer in all 4 games that he has been in that are started by Jake Arrieta at this point.
