Yesterday’s results

arodBTS2.jpgNew BTS leader mday1018 celebrated his first day atop the leaderboard by extending his streak to 34 games. His surge toward the record books continued when Alex Rodriguez singled off Edwin Jackson in the third inning of the Yankees’ win over Tampa Bay.

A trio of other Top 5 competitors rode the bat of red-hot Dustin Pedroia, who went 2-for-6 to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. His seventh-inning double off Minnesota reliever Brian Bass helped fifth-place contestant hej2duk331 reach the 30-game milestone, putting all contestants of the Top 5 into 30-game territory.

Fans made Lance Berkman the most-picked player just one day after he went  0-for-1 with four walks. The Houston slugger drew two more free passes yesterday, but singled off Pittsburgh starter John Van Benschoten in the fourth inning to finish with a 1-for-2 effort.

I picked Ichiro today and I always seem to pick him on the good days. I have a few people I pick from so I think I may go longer than my 13 game streak I had earlier this year.

I have D-Wright who just came through with a double. First time I’ve took a Met and I’m a Mets fan. I was gettin’ scared cause he walked twice, I hate walks in this game. I rather my guy hit the ball but not get a hit than have a walk.

i did this once. and it was hard to do.
but has anyone looked at all the games played on a day and actually tried to pick a hitter in each game to see how good you could be.
i did it once and got a hit from players in 12 of 15 games.
imagine trying to do this for all 30 teams on a single day.

Actually, in reality, a walk is better, because you have a greater chance of rotating the lineup through more times and getting your hitter that 5th or 6th AB.

Although I do find an 0 for 5 a lot easier to swallow, than 0 for 1 with 4 walks!

It just depends on how much the team hits/scores. Gaining a walk doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get an extra at-bat, it could just replace that at-bat and instead of going X-4 your guy will go X-3 with a walk or X-2 with two walks.

It seems like people from the leaderboard aren’t falling at the usual pace they should. Then again, I haven’t had a high hit streak like I do now where I pay attention to who is on the leaderboard.

markakis all weekend. he just had a day off. i know he’ll be at the top of the line-up. he is on a tear against both LHPs and RHPs. i like to check the game log to see when a hitter last got a day off so i don’t run into a situation where he might be given the day off, then come in a pinch hit – like ichiro today who, luckily for those who picked him, got walked. streak at 8 and counting… go cubs go.

WHAT A WEIRD WEEK. IT SEEMS EVERYONE IS A PICKING GENIUS. ITS CLEARLY NOT THAT LEADERS ARE MAKING GREAT PICKS. IF YOU LOOK AT TOP CHOICES AFTER MIDNIGHT, EVERYONE’S PICKS ARE MOVING ON.

I THINK A MAJOR WIPEOUT IS COMING SOON. MAYBE TOMORROW. STATISTICALLY, IT HAS TO HAPPEN. I THINK WHOEVER SURVIVES THE NEXT 2 WIPEOUT WILL MAKE A GOOD RUN TOWARDS THE 40S AND BEYOUND. THAT IS HOW SPOOKY93 DID IT.

TOMORROW IS NOT EZ PICKIN’ IF YOU DON’T GO WITH A COUPLE OF OBVIOUS CHOICES. PUJOLS AND MORNEAU. IF THOSE 2 DON’T COME THROUGH, I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE TAKEN DOWN.

I CAN’T BELIEVE KINSLER IS STILL ON A ROLL. THIS GUY MUST SEEING A GIANT BEACHBALL AT THE PLATE.
