rbgoulet1 continued his march up the BTS charts, getting a 2-for-4 effort from Joe Mauer to extend his streak to 41 games.

Only Tanner Nielsen had a longer streak this season, and only 10 contestants have surpassed that mark in the game’s history.

eggman3131 is far enough behind rbgoulet1, but his 32-game streak is still good enough for second place. Third-place holder frish717 is the only other fan who currently owns a streak of at least 30 games.

Yesterday’s results

For the second day in a row, a hitless day from one player ended the streaks of a good chunk of the BTS field.

This time, the culprit was Ichiro Suzuki. Normally a BTS favorite due to his combination of contact skills and speed, Ichiro couldn’t get anything going on a career day from Texas pitcher Derek Holland. Ichiro’s 0-for-4 effort derailed 21 percent of the day’s contestants, including brian2460 and squallgohan413, who both fell from the Top 5.

But the upheaval didn’t affect leader rbgoulet1, who received an eighth-inning single from Derek Jeter to extend his streak to 38 games. bigshowmarko pushed his second-place streak to 32 games with a 1-for-4 effort from Joey Votto, and eggman3131 took over possession of third, at 29 games, thanks to another big day from Matt Holliday (2-for-3).

Yesterday’s Top 5 most selected players

2. Derek Jeter (NYY): 7.3%, 1-for-4

Every once in a while, a quiet game from one player causes serious upheaval in the standings.

Such was the case with Shane Victorino, whose 0-for-3 night ended the streaks of an eye-opening 20.4 percent of the BTS field. Among the casualties were Roscoe1333 and ber92961, who fell from the Top 5 with their respective 31-game and 29-game runs coming to a close.

But there was no slowing rbgoulet1, who pushed his BTS-high streak to 37 games following a 3-for-7 showing from Albert Pujols in the Cardinals’ 15-inning contest. bigshowmarko received a 1-for-4 performance from Miguel Tejada to move up to 31 games and take over sole possession of second place, while brian2460 reached the 30-game plateau on the heels of Ryan Braun’s 1-for-3 effort.

Roscoe1333 held onto his spot in second place, the owner of a 31-game run following a 1-for-6 performance from Dustin Pedroia. ber92961, bigshowmarko and brian2460 round out the Top 5 with their 30-game streaks.

One day after becoming just the 10th contestant of the season to reach 35 games, momfannie saw her BTS run come to an end when Cincinnati’s Joey Votto was ejected for arguing with the home-plate umpire after striking out in his first at-bat.

While momfannie no doubt also has a few choice words for that umpire, new leader rbgoulet1 is likely thinking only pleasant thoughts after Ichiro’s 3-for-5 performance pushed his streak to 35 games.

matt1448, who entered the day in third place at 32 games, joined momfannie back at square one when his selection of Scott Podsednik resulted in a 0-for-4 performance. That enabled Roscoe1333, who tabbed Albert Pujols (1-for-4), to slide into a tie for third place with bigshowmarko, who held steady at 29 games with Todd Helton given the day off.

For the first time in a little while, we’ve had some consistency at the top of the BTS leaderboard.

But rbgoulet1 refused to give up ground in the standings, riding a 2-for-4 performance to remain close behind at 34 games. matt1448 held steady in third place, at 32 games, thanks to a 2-for-5 day from David Wright.

Mark Buehrle’s perfect game thwarted the 7.7 percent of BTS contestants who picked Tampa Bay’s Carl Crawford — who owned a sizzling .474 average vs. Buehrle since ’04 — though it didn’t affect anybody in the Top 5.

momfannie remained the top mom with her selection of Ichiro, who went 2-for-4 to boost her streak to 32 games. rbgoulet1 picked a good day for Joe Mauer to snap out of his slump, getting a 3-for-4 effort from the All-Star catcher to remain one game behind in the standings.

matt1448 held onto third place, moving up to 29 games thanks to a 1-for-3 day from Chase Utley, while bigshowmarko took advantage of Ichiro’s big show to take over sole possession of fourth, at 26 games.

Another day of action produced another change at the top of the BTS leaderboard.

As a result, momfannie and rockinrick rocked into the top spot, at 30 games, with their respective picks of Miguel Tejada (2-for-3) and Ichiro Suzuki (1-for-5). rbgoulet1 also went with the Seattle hit king to push his streak to 29 games and take over third place.
